I was much happier with toner transfer. True, toner transfer is certainly the least expensive option that still has good turn around time. That said, it does involve some really nasty chemicals, and in hobby context can certainly be inconsistent. Remember too that you'll have to manually drill your holes (although admittedly there are fewer and fewer holes on the boards I make), a mill can drill the holes for you with only a bit change.
