Agreed, however dual core is still amazingly useful, even if all the software is single core. The reason is multitasking actually becomes multitasking, you can have two processes running at the same time at full load. The difference in the "feel" of how fast my dual-core PC is vs. my single core laptop is significant. I can't wait until more cores become mainstream.
