Microchip has some PICs that support Ethernet directly. They also have an
SPI device for Ethernet interface. I have not used these, yet, though. So
far, I've used the Lantronix xPort. For 802.11, I've used a module from
dPac. I'm also looking at modules from Silex and Connect One.
