Yes, I knew that, but as I said in my original post, I only installed Vista, on this spare guinea pig system, so that I could use it to find out what I had to tell my friend to do, the "click here, now click there, what do you see?". My rant wasn't about the amount of RAM Vista needs, but the amount of disk space it took for just a clean install with nothing installed other than the OS itself. Microsoft's website says, and I quote, "40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space". I started with a 40GB drive that had 40GB free.
