While 7.10 does seem a little more buggy then 7.04, it's still more usable then windows! :) The bugs I've noticed are: - standby not reliable, I never really use it, but the few times I've tried I've had very weird results, usually resulting in having to reboot, fixing a ton of fs problems and rebooting again - coming out of hibernate the process NetworkManager pegs the CPU and you don't get your network connection back. Killing NetworkManager and restarting it always fixes this. Problem doesn't seem to occur if you just use wired networking, I only see the problem when I'm using my wireless connection - coming out of hibernate firefox "dissappears", I don't know if I'd consider that a crash (I suppose so), but it's never an issue since a new start of firefox brings up the "restore session" dialog". Nothing else running "dissappears" > I did notice the crash of > Firefox. Then I installed Opera. Unfortunately it crashed once > already after less than one hour of use. Firefox has been one of the most reliable pieces of open source software I've ever used. > One minor bug I found is that under Ubuntu 7.10, PICkit 2 will > be claimed by the XBOX gamepad driver xpad. In this case the FTDI chip was claimed by a "braille driver". No clue why that is, so I just removed the braille driver with apt-get and everything worked fine afterwards. Try removing the XBOX gamepad driver to see if it resolves that problem.
