My 1999 cavalier routinely got 35 MPG on the highway at 65+ MPH. My HCH gets ~45 in the city and highway. Your 87 escort does not get 45 MPG in the city. Over 30 is not a big deal, never really has been. Over 40 for a normal sized car is a big deal. - Martin K -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
