I tried but couldn't get it working last evening.  I downloaded some drivers for it, but when the computer sensed that "new hardware was found", I browsed to the subdirectory that I unzipped the drivers into, but the computer apparently couldn't match up the drivers and the cable.
I do not have a serial port on my laptop, but do know that this board worked with my older computer with a serial port.
I guess the big unknown is getting the board to work with the serial adapter cable.
