It is a pain. Huh! You were lucky! We had to punch all our programs in the Computer Science "A" Level course onto paper tape, using ASR33 teletypes. At least with cards you can throw away a bad one and just repunch it, or insert a new one. If you miss something out on tape you have to copy the tape to the insertion point (at 10 cps) and then type the new part, then copy the rest. Cards are luxury by comparison... I dunno, kids of today...
