http://blog.rlove.org/2007/11/dozen-years.html This is kind of interesting. Back in 1995, I had no computer of my own. And I remember the whole company had only a 486 computer running Lotus 1-2-3. Things change really quite fast in IT, especially in hardware. On the software side, I do not think it changes that fast. In 1997, I started to use Windows 95. VAX/VMS was a bit strange but Pine was not bad in accessing emails. A bit later we were using Exchange. Netscape 3.0 was not bad as a browser. Office 97 was not bad. PSpice 7.1 was fine. Now it is Windows XP at work (ok, better than Win95), Lotus Notes as Email (worse than Exchange, much worse than Pine), IE/Firefox as browser (the network is not really that faster than 10 years ago). I do not need the extra functionality of later versions of Office. PSpice is still slow in processing large data file and still suffers convergence problem.
