Hi guys, I've got a bit of spare space on the dedicated server that hosts my = website, and rather than let it go to waste I figure I might as well offer = it = up to folks who might want it. The server itself is a dual-core 3.2GHz Intel Pentium-D, with 1GB of = physical RAM and a pair of Hitachi 160GB SATA hard disc drives running in a = RAID-1 mirrored configuration. One falls over, the machine runs off the oth= er. = Simple and reliable. It's currently sitting in the UKEasily data centre in = Manchester, humming away merrily to itself. Software-wise, it's running CentOS Linux 5 with Apache 2.2.6, PHP 5.2.4, = MySQL 5.0.27 and PostgreSQL 8.1.9, along with cPanel 11, Fantastico and all = the usual cPanel goodies. Put simply, it's got a web-based front end that = allows you to upload files, manage databases and what not, coupled with an = auto-installer that can install most popular web applications in a fairly = bomb-proof way, and keep them up to date as well. If PHP's not your cup of = tea, it's also got Python 2.4.3 and Perl 5.8.8. I'm pretty open as to what software goes on it, too. If you've got a = legitimate need for something that isn't installed (e.g. a PHP or Perl = module), ask me nicely and I'll probably install it. Requests for Nessus an= d = similar tools will be silently ignored 8^P I've also got the Subversion version-control server installed, which I'm = using to store some of my PIC code, the website scripts and track changes. = I'm = open to setting up additional SVN server instances if anyone's interested. Cost-wise I'm just looking to take some of the edge off the dedicated = server bill, so say =A35 (around USD10) a month for 2GB of storage, and 10G= B = transfer. If you need more than that, ask nicely and I'll see what I can do= . = Bear in mind most webhosts oversell on the basis that most people won't use = anywhere near their maximum allocation. This is basically as-it-comes, pric= ed = on the basis of "you can use the entire allocation and I won't give two = hoots". I might get a bit cross if you manage to peg the CPU utilisation at = 100% on both processors, though. I'm also offering up the scripts that run my website -- the page layout = engine and the feedback script. It's all template based, so you can make it = look however you like - more details available on request. Did I mention this server is currently running ISIS (my stock management = database)? Yep, I'll install that too upon a polite request - the single-us= er = version is almost finished...
