Interesting thought.

I am now convinced that lead-free solder makes the product unreliable 
(see NASA
comments of about 6 months ago), so we have suspended all lead-free 
soldering operations.
My client designs equipment used by power-generation plants, and it is 
exempt from
most such issues.

I believe that in the future another  solder mixture  will be devised 
that is safe AND reliable,
but not at this time.
