I've never had anything actually lost from anything that included insurance OR tracking. Fedex is the most reliable and very fast. IME, under no circumstances should you use a service that does not include brokerage without okaying it with the recipient first-- it's an open invitation to the courier to mercilessly ream the hapless recipient while/st holding the package for ransom (see UPS).
