Wed, We use the BasicMicro ISP-PRO. It programs virtually every PIC there is. They update the PC software regularly. The cost is about $60.00 USD. The form factor is about 1.5" x 3" x .5" or so. Very compact. It is Designed mainly for ISP use, but you can get accessory sockets for it too. We have several of them and use them all the time. I recommend them. These may fit you bill.
