I personally think the claim that soil has a PD of the magnitude shown
by Ewan Campbell is dubious. Think of the implications of a permanent
standing voltage

As we explain here so often, you don't get something for nothing

Having seen the item, my leaning is towards a sympathetic editing for
Ewan Campbell. Doug Edmeades' may have given explanations that
were not included in the eventual footage. That's for him to follow up.
I'm sure the programme staff could have (a) looked up the court
transcript and (b) measured their own soil

A couple of years ago the same programme looked at an allegedly
water-feulled motorbike, and the my perceived bias that time was
towards conventional science
