It just goes to show you how BROKEN the US patent system has become. Any 'prior art' search by the examiners should have turned up Fronde's 'prior art' and disallowed Googles patent application. But a patent is only of value if you have the money to enforce it. Both players have money, and much money to be made from such a patent, so this could get very messy.
