What's your general location? The piclist might have
someone who can make a referral but wouldn't think to
mention it because you couldn't possibly need someone
in <some obscure city>. In my experience referrals
have been the most effective way to find people while
at the same time expending the least energy. That's
similar to your tradeshow method. Though I find
tradeshows tiring!
