This could well go under [AD] or [OT] but on reflection I decided that [EE] seems fair for various reasons. I can just imagine what I am letting myself in for here :-) I invite ***anyone who wishes to*** provide me with a "reference" along the following lines. These are guidelines only: ***Responses may be on or off list*** With respect to engineering (ignoring climate change and Global Warming :-) pleeeeeeease :-) ) - Technical quality of advice given - Usefulness of ideas or solutions presented. - Ability to identify requirements. - Ability to identify solutions or to guide people towards appropriate solutions. - Ability to provide "outside the box" solutions or suggestions which prove useful. - General helpfulness. - Other relevant or qualifying comment as appropriate - Optional: Who you are / What you do. Any brief relevant background that will set the "reference" in its proper context. Most people reading this will not have met me and so in most cases it's my "internet persona" that you are addressing ** - which is what I am largely looking for. My ability to tele-advise is what is most important here. I may use any material sent or may not. I may use senders IDs unless asked not to - although even a reference of this sort is of limited value if anonymous. Offlist responses will not be copied to list except with user's ID removed unless permission is given to publish it. That way if you say something rude offlist and it's funny enough I may tell people but they won't know who said it*. I'd doubt if anyone would ever contact you about this, but they might. I'd only be giving email addresses to people in limited cases and then only to people who I'd trust with them. [The very security conscious may wish to ID themselves but ask that their email addresses be omitted.] Russell McMahon * Olin's offlist comments on me may be identifiable :-))(Although I believe that, based on what we've said to each other before now, technically we think somewhat similarly of each other)(But, I may be wrong :-). ** If James N answers this he may have to fill in two to cover me in remote and local forms :-). -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
