Interesting this morning: Intel motherboard screen, then the XP asking if I want to start normally from previous blank screen (enter for normal), then XP opening screen (with there activity crawl center screen), and then the blank screen. No response from CTL-ALT-DEL. Hit reset, got the want to start normally, getting the "starting windows" and XP came up. If it's PSU, or motherboard, then would I not get the Intel opening screen and just hang with nothing? Once windows is up, the machine is normal for the rest of the day. Could be an intermittent anywhere in hardware with windows trying to load hardware ID to load drivers and getting stuck I'm thinking is another possibility and would have to strip boards out to isoloate. ~: Downloaded the Koppix yesterday (took hours on my DSL), will try burning CD and going that route. Also have dug out the old PSU and might get to installing that also (one at a time). Will keep posted.
