Well, Peter, I imagined a device with much less parts, as I stated 
roughly in my message: some 2 ICs, almost no passive components apart 
some capacitors. So, half an hour to build one prototype.

If things get more complicated as you, or Bob in his second post, are 
stating, then you're absolutely right and price has to be increased...
