It's a nice enough part -- I've been working with it for most of this year, and I've got about a dozen of them in my office right now. Also, Tom Cantrell devotes his entire colunn to it in the next issue of Circuit Cellar. But it's an evolutionary device, not really revolutionary. Its key feature is the high level of integration and compact size. You can get the same level of performance for lower cost, albeit with higher parts count and larger overall size (not to mention the additional labor of assembly and calibration), from other offerings from ADI. We've married it to a Blackfin DSP for an inertial navigation application (not a Segway :-), but marrying it to a dsPIC would also be a natural for less compute-intensive projects. It's dead easy with just an SPI interface and a few GPIO lines to hook up. -- Dave Tweed -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
