A > statistical relation need not be cause-and-effect.. Saw something a long time ago that said as much. IIRC, it was extreme cases, crank the blanket to 'high' and leave it on all night type stuff. Naturally, 'electric blanket' + 'miscarriage' = 'OMG electric radiation'. Maybe there's a follow-up that refutes that.
