Tritium decay was a plot point in Tom Clancy's 'Sum of all fears'.  The
bomb-builder was about to mention the tritium for the completed bomb was a
wee bit old, but they shot him first.  Bomb didn't work as well as it should
have.

The 'OMG electrical radiation' crowd like to bring up a study that found
preganant women who used electric blankets miscarried more.  They blame
electricity, of course, when it was simply that the women were getting too
hot.

Crocodile sex determination is somewhat temperature dependant, too hot means
all the eggs are girls, too cold and you get all boys.  Or vice versa.
