You can switch it back by sending an ASCII > "shift in" or by using Control->Reset Terminal in Tera Term. AAAHH :) Thanks a lot! I'll try that the next time around. This would explain the arbitrariness of that. (I don't know why the SO code would have been sent in most circumstances, but that's another question.) Do you know whether any of the various terminal emulations that Tera Term has does not have this feature? They list VT101, VT102, VT282, VT320, VT382. (I had it on the default VT100, since I don't need -- nor want :) -- any specific terminal features.)
