I use a brand of PLC that has a graphical IDE (Sort of like PSOC express) with logic gates and timers. You can download a demo from http://www.crouzet-usa.com/downloads/millenium/Demo132.exe It is similar to yhe system Marcel described. The demo is only limited in that it can't upload the program to the PLC. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- James, I personally liked the content (though I was also unable to access the Java applets). But I think some sort of application might be good, too. At the Tech museum in San Jose, CA they have a setup with a bunch of jacks and jumper cables, where on the left side you have things like "door open", "key turned", etc., and on the right you have "engine running", "radio on", "lights on", and so forth. And in the middle of the board there are all sorts of logic blocks (some AND gates, some NOT, etc.) so that you can link actions (turning the key) to results (engine is on). It was a neat way to make it applicable. While your examples are definitely good, they need a kid to already be excited about the subject. Of course I'm not suggesting that you use the same setup as above, but at least illustrating some cases where you might want to make an output depend on some inputs might be useful.
