Hi all

We're having a shuffle around at home soon (My wife wants my shiny laptop,
my son wants my older laptop, so weirdly enough I'll be looking to get a
laptop even older than both of them, however my 2Ghz Toshiba is now 5 years
old and its had a hard life (round the world a few times and used fairly
solidly throughout that time) : SO....I'm looking at getting a new old
laptop.

I'm considering something small and slow. Basically I don't need a CD/dvd
drive attached to it as I'll be using it mostly for PHP SQL HTML Email/
Browsing etc.
I'd also like to run varieties of linux on it. So it needs to have no real
quirks.

Consequently..... Trademe (our local ebay) has several machines that suit

These are just examples (the X30 has closed but it is still available to me
and is presently my favourite although I've never used/owned one before
unlike Toshibas and fujitsu's)

Now - I'm not asking for people to put their necks out by recommending,
however I'm interested in peoples experiences in real use of laptops with
sub 14" screens But NOT the new range of Ultra mobile 7" ones (toooo
expensive and flash for my needs)
