Not really. Most airplane accidents are during takeoff/landing and are not a "fall out of the sky" kind of thing. Deaths (like in any other "sport") are far more rare than say, crunching the nose into dirt in a field during a forced/emergency landing and breaking an ankle or leg. As always, driving your car to work (or to the mountains to go rock-climbing, or to the airport to go flying) is by far the most hazardous thing you'll probably do all day, unless you are exceedingly reckless at other activities. Folks do that without even thinking about it. They then discuss how hazardous the other activities are. LOL!
