Well, any DSO is going to have update delays. The Agilent 54xxx we have 
around here is just as bad as the Tek TDS3034 I have. We also have a Lecroy 
9310 (IIRC) which does the same. The latter two have noticeable stable trace 
then jump to display new trace, so the whole screen gets updated in one hit. 
In a lot of ways I prefer the Tek as it doesn't seem to wait for a full 
screen of data to be collected before updating the screen itself, unless the 
scan speed is extremely slow.
