look through the multipole connectors section in your favorite general 
parts suppliers catalog and you will find a variety of header pins and 
associated connectors some of which will be suitable for your purpose.

Afaict ordinary straight header pins will push onto the side of an 
ordinary thickness PCB and can then just be soldered in place. 
Alternatively you can use right angle header pins and have ordinary 
through hole joints on both boards.
