Here is the scenerio..... PIC and a BT module and a cell phone. PIC+BT acts as a data logger, and when you get in range of the device with a BT enabled cell phone (whats the typical range for a BT cellphone to a BT device?) you query the data logger over the BT link and dump down in text form..so its a 'text message' basically and then forward that text message to a PC for storage, etc I've always thought of BT being used for audio, but it originally was developed for things like printers and such. But, the cell phone side of things. Can it use it as a data link? Is it being done? I know on my LG and using Verizon, they have applications you can download so I am thinking...maybe thats what would have to run on it in order to accomplish this. Of course, the cost of the BT module itself might be prohibitive to even go down this path. --------------------------------- Yahoo! oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
