Thunderbird 2 isn't in the official repo's but its pretty easy to install (if you want to). When you press the contacts button the names appear in a list down the side too ;-> If its got some sort of 3D on it install beryl for him and show him the multiple desktops its probably easier for him to manage windows that way then getting them stacked up 10 deep, he'll feel like he is really in the 21st century then. (though there are admittedly some bugs I have found (but they occur with about 60 windows open, or running eagle cad so I don't think that's going to be such a big issue) And its one less windows system you will have to support. At a recent robot event I was managing i took along my desktop PC (as it was all setup with the software i had written and i couldn't be assed installing another) running ubuntu 7.04 with beryl on a pentium D 2.6 with a 6600GT in it and when anybody saw it they said "wow" yaknow I don't know of anybody who on seeing vista has gone "wow" out loud at the eye candy. People actually crowded around to watch me just using the computer hoping i would flip desktops or something. There was a certain amount of geek pride there ;-> -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
