I'm looking for a source of USB/serial adapters based on the FTDI 
FT232 chip. I've been buying some from USBmax.com  (and their 
associated websites, it seems every webstore that sells USB stuff is 
part of this outfit) in the past. I've been generally pleased with 
the actual product, when I can get it. But they're often out of 
stock, and it seems whenever I place an order and they don't have 
stock, my order is just deleted, they rarely contact me. I guess 
business must be really good for them.

I'm looking for (ideally) a USB/serial adpater with around a 6 ft 
cable, and a DB-9 end with thumbscrews on it (designed to plug into a 
serial device), not with nuts on the end designed to accept a cable. 
$20 or less would be great, as would be bulk packaging. Any 
suggestions?
