Optocuplers with 12V or 24V is the best choice.
Try to use the PC817 from Sharp, with high votage (12 or 24V) in the led si=
de (from the buttoms to the leds of the optocuplers) and 5V on the transist=
or side; and a debounce delay in software to confirm a buttom signal.
