Yes, OpenOffice has this nice feature, or google documents can convert Word doc to PDF free of charge as well - you may have to review all pages tough if you use other word processor than yours as each one of them has a different engine. With printer driver you can also try Foxit PDF Creator - the eval version is free to play with only will put a water mark on your pages so you could see if it worth to buy or not - but I'm not sure how it would keep cross references and links.
