So a client calls up....
   
  "we want to use a PDA to get data from our box, using infrared to do it....."
   
  OK, so I'm thinking first.....use the UART and tie a IR detector/decoder to it...errr...wait...I know they have IR transievers but is there such a thing as a IR serial interface?  I thought someone on here said they used IR instead of a 9pin D and such for serial debug.  So if that exists...halfway there.
   
  The other side is the PDA.  Again, back of my mind says theres been a discussion on this.  Not looking at used PDA's per say but whatever is currently out there..standard models.  Is there a model that allows user app's to be written for it? Are they running windows CE or windows mobile and can do this easily?
