I am thinking to spot weld a nickel plate over the torn joints to strengthen the joints further. I forgot to report back on the hobbyist's battery welder. It was from . A brief check show that the price has gone up quite a bit, and there are better models now. I remembered a distributor found through google had a better pricing, and their power supply and charger was overpriced. Other than that, it has been working quite well for low volume usage here.
