I hear they are used for temperature control in nuclear submarines.
Makes sense.. Lotsa watts available to drive them, absolutely silent,
and not all that much temperature differential required.

I do wonder about the thermal wake of such submarines. But maybe the
mass of the water is so large that it dissapears quickly.
