I wonder if one could modify one of the old bi-metallic forced air furnace thermostats to do the job? I would suggest a relay or contactor for the actual heating elements with the thermostat used for the relay control...... I believe these "bottom end" controllers are still available in home building supply houses. Calibration, it is suggested, would be left up to the user.....
