Actually it presents a far better example of how far backwards we've slid. I remember the original episode well, possibly because being a central Illinois farmboy I knew what hot dogs were of and would never eat one! Anyway ... at the time there was no outcry of concern of any sort. You see, first of all we were taught how to follow instructions ... and we were taught IN the school system from grade 1 about life, including electricity, light switches and such. We were also taught some sort of value that made learning an important experience and part of life ... today that series would be of little interest to most students, whereas at the time it was followed by the sports-jocks, music buffs, artistic and any other student interest groups imaginable.
