I do not know who posted that one about RGB prices but I used to get 
mine from lsdiodes.com; checking their site looks like they no longer 
carry them.

A site that does list them is futurlec:

and do indeed show them at US$0.50

I have never purchased anything from futurlec so this is all just fyi...
