One of the most mistakes made on those modules is the missing of ground return pin near every signal pin (assuming someone want a ribbon cable connection). With other words, 5 signal/power pins means 8 pin receptacle pair (2x4)as follows: Rxd-gnd, Txd-gnd, Reset-Gnd, pwr-gnd. Still don't understand what's the point, the module already have an UART...
