Yet another flame-war started by Olin. Thanks loads. Please go away? Or at least learn to use the manners most mothers in your generation taught their children. There was no need to use the word "dirtbag" in your reply. You could easily have said: "Perhaps I'm missing something, but asking someone to provide you with copyrighted firmware is against the law." Scott, while I sympathize with your position, the PICList FAQ clearly states that this is not a good place to ask for copyrighted material, cracked firmware or the like. Please take up the issue with Olimex directly. EVERYONE ELSE: This thread is DEAD. Do not post replies, one way or the other or I will remove you from the list. --- James Newton: PICList webmaster/Admin mailto:jamesnewton@piclist.com 1-619-652-0593 phone http://www.piclist.com/member/JMN-EFP-786 PIC/PICList FAQ: http://www.piclist.com > -----Original Message----- > From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu > [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu] On Behalf Of Olin Lathrop > Sent: 2007 Jun 18, Mon 13:53 > To: Microcontroller discussion list - Public. > Subject: Re: [PIC] MCP-USB Programmer Firmware > > scott larson wrote: > > I contacted Olimex and they > > said that the firmware is copyrighted and I'd have to pay $30 + > > shipping for a new 18F252 with the firmware on it. > > > > Again, does anyone have this programmer and can upload the firmware > > for me? > > Perhaps I'm missing something, but the above certainly sounds > like you're a dirtbag trying to steal $30 worth of > copyrighted material. > > > ******************************************************************** > Embed Inc, Littleton Massachusetts, http://www.embedinc.com/products > (978) 742-9014.
