Here's a direct link to the pdf: http://tinyurl.com/2kf3km When I read it, I thought, is there an MS degree for electronic techs now? There is no engineering in the whole thesis. There is no understanding of DC circuits, of energy, or RF propagation. Just a rush to grab the soldering iron, when ten minutes and the back of an envelope would put an upper bound on the amount of energy available. The approval of this thesis brings shame on the University of Pittsburgh, and on the professors involved: Marlin H. Mickle and Nickolas A. DeCecco, Ronald G. Hoelzeman and James T. Cain. Or maybe I just tried way too hard on my master's thesis! I am quite disturbed by this. If I was a graduate of Pitt, I would be outraged. ps. Now I want to look up this paper: "Energy Harvesting Antennas or when is a Monopole Half of a Dipole," Co-authors: Marlin H. Mickle, Minhong Mi, David Sammel and Tim Minor, International Journal of Modeling and Simulation, 2006.
