The internal RC clock is a fixed 32 KHz clock source and I do not think that you could run the USART at 9600 buad on that one. I guess you are talking about the 8 MHz *INTOSC* clock source, right ? The "solution" is to adjust the INTOSC using OSCTUNE whenever the PIC is seeing framing or other errors. Or by using a timing character string from the "other" side to adjust the baudrate. Or use a newer device with auto-baud that can adjust itself. But of course, it would be interesting to see/know *how* much off your device is from 9600 baud.
