I just got an ICD 2 clone. Prior to using it the first time, I was reading the advisory at the following URL. http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/ICD2_Advisory_51566a.pdf I don't understand the need to have the system interface floating when programming a non-isolated AC-powered target device. I assume by "non-isolated," they mean the target device's ground is an earth ground. The PC should be connected to the same earth ground. It seems to me that if the system, programmer, and target device are all referenced to the same ground, everything should be okay. What am I missing?
