I have a daylight ONLY 500mhz touch screen tablet Fujitsu laptop. It has a transflective screen. Usb but otherwise - no CD/DVD, no keyboard, no mouse. No floppy ! (great fun for re-installing os's) I have used these on and off for a couple of years now - the only issue is this one is virtually useless indoors even with fairly bright indoor lighting. Touch screen is useful for some messing around - I personally haven't found a "real" reason for owning it yet..... dang gadgets ! Fujitsu did make a indoor/outdoor version and an indoor only version. Interestingly the Samsung R50 has a screen on it that is well lit - but is transreflective enough to use in bright light and you can turn the backlight off if not using it ! Subject: Re: [OT]: Small laptop with bright screen -- suggestions Stealth Computer's FAQ explains what kind of screen I need: http://www.stealthcomputer.com/faq_lcd_technology.htm#outdoorreadable but their "rugged" laptops have crazy prices ($5200+), and I bet most of the price comes from stuff I don't need. I don't care if the laptop works underwater, or survives a drop from the Empire State Building, and I don't even care about the battery life that much -- I just want the bright screen.
