Hi Gerhard, Thanks for your reply. Good news. I just finished programming the PIC with the modified AN851 app note code. I did indeed set it up for the 4xPLL. I modified the VBasic app to show the ID # of a PIC not in its list so I could figure out what entry to create in the .INI file. Then I edited the .INI file to include the 18F4680 (ID=116) in the list. Although an 'UNKNOWN' PIC was supposed to initialize the indexes it didn't. Still need to fix that in the VB app. Finally after figuring out which programming flags to set etc. I was able to download and program the application. There's a button on the APP that clears the top location of EEROM which the boot loader looks at to decide if it should run the application or go into boot loader mode. To get back into boot loader mode once the app is running I have a user hold down the ENTER keybutton while powering up the ELS. That sets the EEROM location to 0xFF and then resets the processor which then powers up autobauding on the serial port. Programming was done at 115.2Kbaud. Does anyone know how to get Microchip to upgrade an APPNOTE? John Dammeyer > > John Dammeyer wrote: > > > 1.
