Hi, I am just starting with PIC24 family. I have a question about the new RTCC feature. How can I keep the RTCC running, even when the PIC24 supply is switched off? I think, a RTCC is a real useful part, but makes no sense, when no designated power pin (battery) is available for the RTCC. Any ideas to solve this? I though about using the sleep-mode, but typical, my supply is switched off without respect to the actuall status of the PIC, so I do not have time to switch to sleep-mode ... Another of my ideas is to keep the PIC in Reset, when no external supply is available, keeping VDD at the PIC alive with a small battery, but I do not known, if that is really a supported mode of the PIC and what would be the current used from the PIC then? Is the RTCC powered from VIO (3,3) or from the internal generated 2,5 VddCore? Would it be enough to keep VddCore alive? I am just missing a Vbat pin :-(( Best Jens -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
