its late.  First article boards in, pair of em.  Simple...16F818, nothing fancy, have the ISP tied to a header..mclr,power and pgc and pgd
   
  Hooking up either the ICD2 or the pickit2, it can't see the device, on either board.  
   
  Checked the power...device has power on its pins.
   
  double checked PGC and PCD to the right pins on the header, all is well.
   
  Verified the ICD2 and pickit2 talk to other devices.
   
  So....whats the typical suspect when the device cant be found? I even replaced one chip thinking...off (way off chance) it was bad.
   
  frustrated....heading to bed...looking for suggestions in the morning....gotta be simple!!!
