Hi Alan,

I think there are basically two types of resonators...

The three pin resonators have internal caps and the center pin needs to be
grounded.

The two pin resonators need external caps from OSC1 & OSC2 to ground.

My guess is that you have a two pin resonator and just need some small
(15pF?) caps from OSC1 & OSC2 to ground.
