I bought a cheap Chinese scope last year, though not on eBay - Owon PDS5022S, 2-channel, 25 MHz, somewhere around $200 IIRC. It's not the first scope I've touched, but it's the only one I've worked with extensively. The color LCD has some blemishes and has a very narrow viewing angle, the buttons and knobs are cheap and sometimes flaky, it occasionally locks up, and its Windows applet is pretty basic. But, it does the job - I've had no problems with the electronics, and the feature set seems good to me - and it was easily affordable. So, my feeling is, they skimped on exactly the things I want them to skimp on, for the price. :) I'm happy with it. -- Timothy J.
